Don't Post Anything Trilingual Doesn't Like

It doesn't matter if the post violates any rule of the site or not. He'll delete it just because it doesn't follow HIS party line.

How sad is that?

It is unfortunate that such things happen, but hardly surprising. I have to say that no one--not even deej--has been so heavy-handed & capricious.

I really feel sorry for the man. How painful life must be if your reaction to something that doesn't fit your liking is to make it DISAPPEAR.

Several of us made specific, detailed, and thoughtful postings. Apparently, they're really not desired. So, post nothing but pie-in-the-sky, unrealistic, leftist drivel, or Trilingual will make it go away.

I have to agree with Ethan and Taylor.

Trilingual is behaving like a petty dictator with delusions of godhood (not to be confused with deej sometimes).

Yes, hijacking threads can be a distraction, but tri seems to think that this is his little deomain to do as he pleases. It's time for him to turn in his moderator's cap and give it to someone who can do the job correctly, since he obviously cannot.

I didn't delete anything in the Nebraska thread that could be described as remotely relevant to the discussion, including Erik's dig at me for using the term "kkkonservative" whatevers. The rest of the post related to the discussion. As Erik is well aware he disagreed with me in almost all of the postings in the thread, and all of those postings are exactly where they were, because they related to the topic.

The deleted posts had nothing at all to do with the Nebraska thread. They were just private bitch-fighting.

If M4Mers want to fight each other out, they can start another thread (personally I wish they'd start another site!). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible the way this site is set up to move individual postings within a thread to a new or different thread. If it were possible I would have done that with the off-topic postings, rather than delete them. But you can only move an entire thread. So the only alternative to keeping the Nebraska thread (and the other threads taylorky decided to hijack in revenge) on track was to delete the off-topic postings.

As you can see, this is a different thread, and I haven't deleted anything here. You can have any opinion you like of me. I'm pretty thick-skinned. But the moderators get a lot of complaints about threads being hijacked and taken off-topic. When M4Mers go to a thread on escorts in Lisbon (for example) that's what they want to read about, not wade through reams of off-topic personal attacks and bitch fights. So, if that's what you want to do, start a new thread, as you have with this one, and duke it out!!! :7

Lately, it seems that the moderators on this site are becoming drunk with power. You had another choice. You could have left it alone. It seems that none of you are capable of learning the lesson of the Benjamin Nicolas threads. The more heavy handed you become as moderators, the worsr the backlash than if you had left the original postings alone.

It's time for you to resign and let someone competent take over.

For the record, I have never seen Cooper drunk! But you better believe he is powerful!

As for the other moderators, I cannot say. But it is obvious that this forum draws fewer and fewer contributors, and you have to think the vitriol and name calling is a good part of the reason. Taylor used to be such a sweetheart, I don't know what happened to him, but his name calling has just gotten vile. Erik shows signs of regressing too.

But using terms like repiglican and kkkonservatives doesn't help much either, does it?

I've been called lots of names on this site by lots of different people, but I doubt anyone has spewed more insults of a personal nature at me than Trilingual. Although that has not been the case recently, since we've managed to find a way to express different points of view without lots of personal acrimony, he is one of the heaviest traffikers of personal insults on this entire Board.

Accordingly, watching him hold himself out as some sort of arbiter of civil discourse who is so offended by "personal attacks" that he actually deletes them is really too much to behold without puking.

The obvious reality is that Trilingual had a personal dispute with Erik from some other thread that is obviously still lingering in his sad, bitter, lonely, old mind. Since he has no other outlet for his anger and bitterness towards Erik, he abused his moderator "powers" to delete things Erik had written about him that were no worse than tons of things Trinlingual has written about people here over and over.

To put it mildly, Trinlingual isn't the only moderator here to abuse his little powers in this manner to satisfy his own petty, personal agenda, but this is one of the most transparently corrupt instances ever. What makes it worse - so much worse - is that Trilingual, as usual, has to resort to transparent falsehoods to excuse his inexcusable behavior ("I didn't do it for me, but for the good of the site!"), rather than just be honest about what he actually did.

It's really a measure of how little and impotent a person is in their life if they have to come here and use these moderator "powers" to punish people they dislike or to banish thoughts that embarrass them or which they can't answer.

So anyone getting angry at Trilingual for this conduct should really just pity him instead.

This is the lamest excuse ever. If you and whomever you think you were having such high-minded discussions with wanted to keep engaging in your elevated discourse, what was stopping you? If taylor and Erik and whomever started a sub-thread that you weren't interested in, why couldn't you just refrain from participating in it and stick the part of the thread that you liked rather than eradicating it?

Why did those posts that you deemed "irrelevant" need to be deleted? If they were irrelevant, why couldn't you just ignore them and let the people who found them to be more interesting than your endless, verbose drivel continue to read them?

And, all of this leaves unmentioned the fact that you are one of the most chronic "hijackers" of threads on this Board. It was not all that long ago that every single fucking thread in this section turned into a whiny dirtball war regarding Israel and anti-Semitism between you and axehibia, and even now, you have a very reliable ability to turn any discussion here into a warning that the Nazis are coming.

If you are really committed to deleting posts that are "irrelevant" to the initial post starting a thread, I'm afraid you're going to have to begin deleting most of your posts here.

I don't think very many people will be sheding tears when that happens.

Well, this "obvious reality" isn't based in any fact, at all. It's based entirely on unfounded assumptions.

With the exception of one off-topic post by Erik taunting taylorky, all of the other deleted posts were off-topic posts by taylorky trying to hijack or derail the thread. The posts were all "one-liners" that had zero reference to the topic of the thread. BTW, if you'll read this carefully, you should be able to figure out that the posts weren't about me (at least not when taylorky started his bitch-fight) but about Erik. However, I haven't deleted ANYONE'S obnoxious posts when they had some shred of relevance to the topic, even when I was the target of them. Nor did I delete any of Erik's attacks on me in the other thread to which you refer. I think I was able to hold my own in that particular slanging-match. Perhaps that's why, in the Nebraska thread, Erik decided on a more reasoned approach, for which I'm grateful because it produced a much more interesting and thought-provoking discussion than a dishing contest.

The same applies to some of our recent interchanges, new best friend. (And Rio neighbor?) Even when we don't agree, it's been possible to have civil interchanges with both you and Erik recently, and I think that's a positive thing for all of us. We need more of that, not less.

You bet I got into it with ad rian/axebahia whenever he'd start his anti-Semitic rants. And I'd still be doing it if he hadn't been 86'ed eventually (not by me). However, the hijacking in those cases, as I recall, was done by ad rian/axebahia when he'd start bringing up his anti-Semitic lies and disinformation in threads that were almost always about something else. As for making comparisons to the Nazis on occasion when referring to the current course of God's Own Party/Greedy Old Plutocrats, you may not like or agree with my opinions, as I often haven't liked or agreed with yours, but they were ON-TOPIC.
