why should we give a shit anymore ??

the right wing me first types on this board and in this country have shown they don't care about anything other than themselves, they don't care about gay people, poor people, the principles this country should represent, they don't and are not willing to place themselves in danger or make any sacrifices for the betterment or security of the country or it's people, they think using americas might to invade and destroy a country that was no more of a threat to u.s. security than any of at least a dozen other countries, they want to destroy the only lifline many low income seniors have (social security),they create an environment where seniors must choose between food,rent,r/x,heat, fuck it nobody cares anymore why even try........

Why?

Because somebody has to and why shouldn't it be us? Because progress throughout history has been led by those who protested against the ills around them. Because the history of growth in civil rights has shown clearly that progress comes from popular movements, not from entrenched government.

People and interests in power have little reason to work for change; in many cases, their interests lie diametrically opposed to what would come about through change. Change -- for the better or worse -- is driven by citizen action.

And, finally, because you're young. As we age, we grow more conservative and more settled. We lose much of our idealism -- more the pity! -- and we begin to think things aren't possible and stop dreaming the kinds of dreams we dreamed when we were young. It is the right and the responsibility of youth to be the conscience of society.

If, at your age, you give up now, if you throw off the fight, if you lose your dreams, if you stop railing against wrongs, where will you be fifty years from now? Dreams go away slowly of their accord, sometimes inexorably. Don't throw them away in youth or let others take them from you. Protect them and struggle for them and rail against injustice for as long as you can.

>I can definitely relate, Taylorky

I bet you can! Nothing is more inevitable than the formation of a Confederacy of Dunces.

One illiterate, cliche-spewing, one-sentence-thinking imbecile will ALWAYS find others of his kind.

Now excuse me while I pat myself on the back. I predicted the formation of this TaylorKY-ReturnOfS axis of illiteracy before these 2 even found each other, because I knew that like "minds" will always meet.

As I asked Return of S more than 2 months ago, in response to one of his characterisic one-sentence burps:

Be honest. Did you used to post here as TaylorKY? The similarities are truly striking - and ought to be, for you at least, genuinely disturbing.

"brilliant post ReturnOfS . . . . did i mention that my dad was a lawyer . . . i think that makes me special because he has money that he gives to me . . . i claim to be 22 and insist that i am not a prostitute and never hired one even though i hang out here all the time and i suck on my horses' cocks all day but i like to pretend that i own a law firm and have employees and i make snide jokes about other peoples jobs and i offer people jobs as my assistant . . . . even though i have no job and i only have employees in my fantasy world and i cant even write or master basic english skills. . . . .

one other thing . . . i yell at people over and over for not serving in the military when they support wars . . . even though i will never say if i supported the war in afghanistan . . . . i cant answer that because i lose either way . . . . either i did support that war in which case im a hypocrite for not serving in it . . . or i didnt support in which case my stupidity is beyond doubt for not wanting to go to war against a country that harbored Osama bin Laden even when Europeans and 90% of Americans supported the war. . . . so i can never answer that question . . . .

Doug is more like the perennial pile of dogshit that manages to land in your yard, waiting to be stepped in when you least expect it. He's more of a nuisance than anything else. Don't take him too seriously. I doubt many people do. I sure as hell don't.

Welcome to the Board, Peter. Excerpted above, in the first two responses to your post, you will find illustrative examples of the substance, intellect, and creativity of the members here. Their contributions to political dialogue are truly inspirational.

The only thing missing are hateful, bitter references to your excrement, but fortunately, you can find those in abundnace from these progressive, kind souls by looking just a few posts up, as well in most other threads in this section of the forum.

Hopefully, your excellent, sage advice to Taylor won't fall on deaf ears. But in the future, should he ignore your advice and continue to exist, you may want to consider using less, shall we say, complicated words when addressing him if you have any hope that he will comprehend what you write.

>Now we someone who can have a fit in Atlanta to go along with

>the guy having the fit in LA.

Taylor, ReturnOfS, and now Lucky - there must be something about the smell of this thread that is attracting the lower-level creatures who spit out their cliches one choppy, fragmented sentence at a time.

My favorite part is when they all start complimenting and agreeing with each other even though they say nothing. Before participating in the high-level dialogue that comprises this Board, I never thought it possible to agree with someone who says nothing.

Actually, that's my second favorite part of this Board. My absolute favorite part is when the good, caring, humanistic liberals here jump in and start spouting playground epithets about doody ("he's dog crap" - "he can't see because he has shit on his face!") and then congratulate themselves and each other for saying something witty and incisive ("he's a sick piece of crap!" - "you're so right, great post!" - "thanks! did i mention that he's dog shit?" - "Good one!" - "hey, Ann Coulter is a cunt!" - "Wow, that's out there" - "She's also dog shit!").

If someone described to me what occurs in this forum on a daily basis (such as a gay prostitute posting articles here about how outrageous it is that a gay prostitute was allowed into the White House!), I would not believe it without seeing it for myself.

"He's dog shit that you step in". Don't people who develop normally stop making these sorts of comments around the age of 8 or so, particulary when they are ostensibly engaged in debate over political issues?

I used to think so.

Rick, I am sure Doug has seen Meet the Fockers at least 5 or 6 times. Not only does it have his secret onsession, babs, but it also shows the inevitable triumph of liberalism over conservatism. I am sure that makes Doug hard.

You are so articulate, so erudite; however, you seem

to be all style but not substance.

Your responses are as thought out, factual, and vile as

that of a Bitter drag queen at 4am Sunday morning.

>If someone described to me what occurs in this forum on a daily basis (such as a gay >prostitute posting articles here about how outrageous it is that a gay prostitute was >allowed into the White House!), I would not believe it without seeing it for myself

Once again you have it all wrong - missed the point. The problem with Gannon/Gluckert/Gung-din or What-ever-the-hell his name is – is not that he was/is an escort, it is here is a guy with no credentials except (to paraphrase some of your rantings about other members of this board: HE’S A #### WHICH IS ILLEGAL) Getting daily access to the White House under an assumed name (and committing a crime – prostitution –eck!) in this day of terrorist attacks. While I do not support the Bush administration, I do not want to see them go down in a terrorist attack. Secondly, this episode undermines freedom of the press … a press whether biased, liberal, or conservative must be independent of the administration. Bush et al manipulations upset me. Additionally, while I’m all for gays in the White House, I believe that competence/ability should be the requirement; furthermore, gay members of the administration should remember from whence they come. Finally, Benjamin Nicholas is far sexier and has a much better writing style then Gannon/Gluckert/etc. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind reporting on the Whit House and servicing the closeted members of the Bush admin.

>Taylor,

>With your attitude, you should consider putting a gun to the side of your head and >ending it all. Big Peter Atlanta

Before Taylor tries out your suggestion, perhaps you should try it first.

>Be honest. Did you used to post here as TaylorKY? The similarities are truly striking - >and ought to be, for you at least, genuinely disturbing.

Interesting … I long suspect that you and Fin Fan Fing are one and the same.

Well, have to start digging out from the snow.

>Have we determined for sure yet that Taylor, unlike

>Pinnochio, is a real boy?

I don't know about that, but would you mind asking him - and ReturnOfS - if they supported the war in Afghanistan and/or the Persian Gulf War of 1991, and if so, how come they didn't serve in it? Neither they, nor anyone else who screams "chicken hawk" at those people who supported the Iraq War but didn't serve in the military to fight it (which, by the way, includes over half the country, including Hillary Clinton and John Edwards) will ever answer that question.

How come one is a cowardly "chicken hawk" to have supported the Iraq War without fighting in it, but it's OK to have supported the War in Afghansitan without fighting in it (as is true for the vast majority of the Democratic Party), or to have supported the Persian Gulf War in 1991 to drive Iraq out of Kuwait without fighting in that war (as is true for the vast majority of the Democratic Party)?

Or how about Bill Clinton's military intervention in Somolia and Bosnia? Are he - and every other Democrat who supported sending people to die in those places even though they didn't serve in the military and didn't go to fight themselves - immoral chicken hawks?

I know that neither TaylorKY nor ReturnOfS can answer these questions (in no small part because they'd have to be able to read them first in order to answer), but can anyone else here who screetches out "chicken hawk" answer them?
