dick_nyc
obber's gun a deductible expense A bank robber has been allowed to claim the £1,400 cost of the gun he used as a legitimate business expense. [snip] The Dutch prosecutors' service said yesterday that the judge had followed sound legal precedents. Leendert De Lange, a spokesman, said: "You can compare criminal acts to normal business activities, where you must invest to make profits, and thus you have costs." Therefore drug dealers would be within their rights to claim the cost of a car used to ferry the drugs around, he said. Citizens are treated like criminals for defending the lives of their families. Like-minded government officials treat criminals like law-abiding businessmen. What's not to love? Yet, there are still those enlightened, "progressive" individuals among us (aka: Michael Mooreons) who ask "Why can't we be more like Europe?". And I thought Massachusetts was bad. Paul Revere
>> >And I thought Massachusetts was bad. > Dick; What exactly is wrong with Massachusetts, the cradle of liberty and the birthplace of the Ameican Revolution? I think the U.S. would be better off if the rest of it were more like Massachusetts. (OK, except the drivers).

Doug69
>What exactly is wrong with Massachusetts, the cradle of >liberty and the birthplace of the Ameican Revolution? As I always say to the British and the French, if you have to dig back a couple of centures in order to say something good about the place you live, that's a pretty good indication that it sucks. That was just the beginning Dougie. Massachusetss today is one of the great centers of higher education, medical service and research, biotechnolgy research and all other high tech research. Boston is the fourth largest financial center in the world (behind NYC, London and Tokyo) We have certainly led the fight for Civl Rights for gay men and women in America. This is where it is happening. Folks criticize Massachusetts as an expensive place to live. However it is clear (using your prcious capitalistic principles) that places in demand will be the most expensive. When demand exceeds supply, the prices rise. The four most expensive citites in the U.S. are NYC, Boston, San Fran, and Honolulu. That's because people want to be in those places. For Boston and Massachusetts that is because so much is going on here. So despite difficult weather and bad drivers, this is still one of the places to be in this country. Guest Fisher
I'm not sure if you could take this deduction on your Schedule C; however, if you did rob a bank and did not declare the proceeds as income, you'd be in BIG trouble ... thats how they got Capone - Fisher

Just a rhetorical question to be clear.... “On the fields of Trenzalore, at the fall of the Eleventh, when no living creature may speak falsely or fail to give answer, a question will be asked. A question that must never, ever be answered: Doctor.....WHO?????"
