No beef producing country can ever get smug or pass the blame about something like mad cow disease. No matter how good your system, eventually it will break down one day and the disease will appear. Yesterday it was Britain. Today it's the USA. Tomorrow it could be Australia, or New Zealand, or Argentina.

And to blame a Canadian cow less than a day after confirmation of the outbreak was just ridiculous. In any event, with the ease of cross-border travel for bovines as well as humans, what's the difference between a Canadian cow and a US cow? Do Canadian cows understand the change of nationality they experience when they cross the border? Do they moo "The Star Spangled Banner" south of the border to show that they're no longer Canadians?

Or are they just North American cows, as likely to cross national boundaries as state ones in their life's journey from calf to Big Mac?

>As an American, I am thoroughly embarrassed.

This is the liberal credo, so succinctly expressed here.

>What next will we accuse our northern neighbor of??

What if it IS the case that it originated in Canada? Isn't that sort of important to know? Is there any issue on which you don't immediately take the side of any country on the opposite side of the United States?

don't know if it was an oversite on your part, or you just missed the news about it; but, there was an incidence of mad cow disease in the western part of canada last summer. i forget the exact province. we immediately halted imports of canadian beef to the usa, as so many countries are doing to our beef exports now.

Not so fast, Canada is not conceding that the cow belongs to it until DNA tests are complete, and it becomes clear where the feed it ate came from. Since the U.S. specializes in animal feed, the problem may well originate south of the 49th paralell even if the mad cow was born in the US.

Dougie:

You disappoint me! I felt sure that you would inform us that through your myriad of sources, you had determined that the cow was not only from Canada, but that it was a liberal cow, with a vial of anthrax stuffed inside its cunt, personally dispatched to the United States by Saddam Hussein to kill beef eating Americans across the land.

The news reports here say that the USA does NOT use animal feed any more, and hasn't done so for some years. Do we know if those reports are wrong?

Oh no, Bucky, I would never say this, because I don't believe this happened.

What I actually think is that it's your cunt - not the cow's - in which Saddam placed anthrax.

Having anthrax in your cunt is pretty much the only thing that I can think of which could possibly explain your conduct and statements.

That's unlikely sonce the U.S. is a big proponent of using beef hormones and other such forms of modern agriculture, and defends assiduously its right to do so in the WTO.

I have no cunt, other than you, to deal with in my life. And unfortunately, you never stop dripping your right wing vaginal secretions. Imagine that, Dougie perpetually on the rag. We witness it here every day, so who could deny it? ( I know you'll try, Dougie, but who will believe you?
